Resveratrol protects against sepsis induced acute kidney injury in mice by inducing Klotho mediated apoptosis inhibition

Purpose: To investigate the mechanism of resveratrol protection against sepsis-induced acute kidney injury in mice.
 Methods: A model was established mice by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). Sixty healthy male ICR were randomly divided into sham operation (sham) group, (CLP) CLP + low-dose (20 mg/kg) treatment (CLP ResL) high-dose (40 ResH) group Klotho (0.01 Klotho) group. All administered on day after surgery once every 24 h for 3 days. Various serum biochemical parameters protein expressions evaluated.
 Results: After CLP, levels creatinine (Scr) blood urea nitrogen (BUN) increased pathology exacerbated. The mRNA expression Bcl-2 decreased, while those Bax Caspase-3 (p < 0.05). intervention, Scr BUN recovered, pathological changes alleviated. increased, decreased. conditions ResH improved more significantly than ResL 0.05).
 Conclusion: Resveratrol upregulates endogenous to exert its antiapoptotic effects, which can protect kidneys injury. Thus, compound has potentials development
